RCMP have recovered the body of a man who fell off a paddleboard he was using on Herbert Lake in Banff National Park.

The body of a 25-year-old man from India, who was working in Lake Louise, was located by a dive team Saturday morning after he went missing at approximately 7:15 a.m. on June 30.

Efforts by onlookers, the RCMP and the Parks Canada visitor safety team to locate the man were unsuccessful.

A search had been ongoing to locate the victim, say Lake Louise RCMP. The search included the use of dive teams, an underwater camera, boat and shore searches, cadaver dogs and sonar.
