The Innisfail Food Bank received a big donation thanks to local police officers and firefighters.
The first-ever Battle of the Badges, a hockey game between Innisfail Fire workers and Innisfail RCMP officers, was held this past weekend, with hundreds attending the event.
In total, $6,038 and 1,487 pounds of food were raised for the local food bank. Calgary Flames Alumni donated $2,500 to the cause.
RCMP ended up winning the game 15-10.
There are plans to make the event “even bigger” next year, RCMP said in a press release earlier this week.
