Canada’s Queen of Punk, Bif Naked, is returning to Red Deer next month.

She will perform Aug. 9 at Bo’s Bar and Stage.

Now that her latest release Rollerdome is out, the Vancouver-based singer is next going before the cameras for a new documentary of her life. Bif Naked: One of a Kind, which is expected to air on Super Channel in early 2024.

There’s a lot of life to cover — starting from Naked’s unusual beginnings. She was born in India to a Canadian teenage girl and a British boy, but adopted by missionaries who moved her to North America.

She’s often spoken about escaping girl gangs and other abusive situations in her teens by joining a punk rock band. and leaving on tour.

Since then, she’s started her own record company and become an international recording artist with nine albums and 21 music videos. Some of her best-known songs are I Love Myself Today, Moment of Weakness and Nothing Else Matters.

The singer has married thrice — the last one has stuck — and overcome a battle with breast cancer.

Naked has also crossed over into acting, pulling off many memorable roles on television and film, appearing in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Crow: Stairway to Heaven and The Chris Isaak Show.

Last year, she appeared as a judge on Canada’s Drag Race.
