An Amazing Race-style event has raised $43,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Red Deer and District.

The fourth annual Big Pursuit was held Sunday and raised money to support community-based programming, as well as in-school mentoring programs in Red Deer.

More than 25 teams competed in the event. This year’s checkpoints included the downtown fire hall, Elements on RiversEdge, East Hill Save-on-Foods and Parkland Mall.

Prizes were awarded to the top teams and fundraisers.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Red Deer is part of Youth HQ, which offers numerous programs and services that support children, youth and families in central Alberta.
