Big winner bought $20.6-million lotto ticket at family restaurant

An Edmonton woman’s decision to buy a Lotto 6-49 ticket at a family restaurant has stuffed her bank account with $20.6 million.

ST. ALBERT — An Edmonton woman’s decision to buy a Lotto 6-49 ticket at a family restaurant has stuffed her bank account with $20.6 million.

Joanne Tsetta says she was confused at first about the Quick Pick she purchased at an Albert’s Family Restaurant.

She says she thought she had won $200,000, then $2 million, before the convenience store clerk who validated her ticket said it was worth more than $20 million.

Tsetta rolled up the ticket, bought what she had come for and quietly left the store.

She says it took a day or two for her to truly believe she’d split the 6-49 jackpot on March 20 with just one other person — a woman from Ontario.

She says she’s going to use the money to buy a new vehicle and provide a better education for her children.
