The pandemic-fuelled craze for camping and exploring the outdoors is showing no signs of waning.

As spring is nearly in sight and Alberta Parks are open for reservations, the Red Deer RV Show is returning to Red Deer this week for the first time in two years.

The Biggest Little RV Show on Earth will run Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 23-26, at Westerner Park.

Organizers call this one of the biggest events for a show and sale in central Alberta, and a good place to start planning summer adventures — whether area residents are looking for their first RV, considering an upgrade, or are simply curious about the RVing lifestyle.

According to the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association, camping has become a habit for many Canadians, with 33 per cent of the population reporting they have been camping throughout their lives.

Most Canadian RV campers reported going out into the woods at least three times a year. According to a Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association’s survey, hiking leads their favourite outdoor activities, followed by fishing, canoeing, sightseeing, biking and bird-watching.

The Red Deer RV show will feature seven dealers, selling many different lines and types of RVs, including trailers, fifth wheels and motor homes, and the tools and gadgets needed.

Vendor booths will also be available, with all things camping related as well as, information about RV travel, outdoor activities and more.
