Blackfalds Days 2017 celebrates Canada 150

Calling it a fun-filled weekend of community events, Blackfalds Days 2017 organizers are almost ready for the celebration.

This year’s theme, Celebrating Canada 150, focuses on the patriotism and pride of being Canadian. Blackfalds Days runs from June 16 to 18 in the Central Alberta community.

It starts on June 16 evening with the grand opening of the Optimists All Wheels Park, 4503 Womacks Rd., at 5:30 p.m. The opening of the park includes a barbecue by donation and skater/scooter demonstrations.

Attendees can expect the return of many fan favourite activities including the Family Street Dance, Town Councillors’ Pancake Breakfast, Family Amazing Race and the Block Party in the Park.

Saturday evening, the Blackfalds Pyro Crew will help celebrate Blackfalds Days’ 12th year with a fireworks show at dusk. The town said it is best viewed form All-Star Park.
