The Blackfalds Lunch Box program has raised enough money to be funded for the rest of 2021.

In a press release Friday, the Town of Blackfalds said the program, which is offered in partnership with Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has raised $107,432 since March of last year.

Last month, the program was extended through 2021 and expanded to include all children up to 18-years-old.

“We want to acknowledge and thank all of our generous donors, both business and individuals who have contributed to this amazing program and who continue to provide support throughout this pandemic,” shared Sue Bornn, FCSS manager.

“The Lunch Box (program) started at the end of March last year as a pandemic response program and will be serving the community for an entire year next month. We are grateful to continue to provide it to all families with children that live in Blackfalds.”
