Blackfalds Mayor Richard Poole has officially announced that he will not be running in the upcoming municipal election.
Poole joined the town council in 1995. He took a brief absence from 1998 to 2001, and served as a councillor until 2017 when he was elected as mayor.
A statement on the town’s Facebook page states that Poole will spend his upcoming retirement continuing his education, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
