The Blackfalds Multi-Plex will be known as the Eagle Builders Centre once the $24.6-million expansion is completed.

The company is paying $500,000 for the naming rights for the next decade.

Eagle Builders’ director Craig Hann said it was an easy community investment for the company, given that 90 per cent of its staff live in the area.

“We have had a lot of local support for our business over the years. When you are blessed with much, you are called to do much with it,” he said.

Haan spoke about how the facility, which includes the twinning of the ice arena, expanded dressing rooms to accommodate the incoming junior A hockey team and a new library, will affect the community.

“Having that second ice surface is going to be a big deal and this facility will cover every facet of what a community needs. It’s going to be beautiful,” he said.

He added the facility will be cost efficient, durable and long-lasting enough that the town will not need to think about building a new facility for 75 years.
