A collection of Central Alberta police agencies combined to make a significant drug bust.
Police charged a 61-year-old male from Red Deer with break and enter, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
and proceeds of crime under $5,000.
The Blackfalds General Investigations Section (GIS), Sylvan Lake GIS, Innisfail GIS, Blackfalds general duty and Red Deer Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant on a residence a Red Deer earlier this month. As a result of this search warrant, police seized 486 grams of suspected cocaine, $495.00 Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
After a Judicial Interim release hearing, the man was released on a $10,000 promise to pay and $15,000 cash deposit. However, at the time of his arrest he was on parole so was remanded for his parole violation.
