Blackfalds and Gleichen RCMP are concerned about reports of child luring that may involve the same suspect.
On Aug. 9, Blackfalds RCMP received a call about a man in a vehicle on Oak Street who approached a 7-year-old girl on a bicycle sometime between 6 and 8 p.m. He told her to get into the vehicle, but she ignored him and turned onto a cross street and returned home.
The suspect was described as having darker skin, an accent, brown eyes and glasses. He wore a button-up blue shirt and drove a red SUV or pick-up truck.
On July 28, at about 11:15 a.m., Gleichen RCMP responded to a complaint of child luring on Gleichen’s Main Street involving an unknown elderly man who approached a 13-year-old boy and offered to pay him money for sex.
The suspect was described as being his 50s with grey hair, blue eyes and glasses. He wore a blue plaid and white shirt, dark jeans and hat. He drove a newer light coloured GMC pick up truck with after market lights.
RCMP could not confirm whether the two incidents are connected, but there was a resemblance between the two composite sketches of the suspects.
