Blackfalds IGA has 7 COVID-19 cases in April

A grocery store in Blackfalds is dealing with a large number of COVID-19 cases.

The IGA location at 6005 Parkway Road has reported seven cases of the virus, all in April.

The most recent case was reported Friday, with the employee working last on Sunday.

On Tuesday, two employees also tested positive.

Three others tested positive on Sunday. They last worked at the store on March 31.

One employee at that store also tested positive on April 5, and last worked on March 31.

The Lacombe Sobeys also had a confirmed positive case on April 4, with the employing working last on March 28.

Innisfail Co-op Food Store also had a positive case confirmed on Thursday and the employee’s last shift was Monday.

This story was corrected Saturday, April 10. A previous version of the story said the impacted grocery store in Blackfalds was a Sobeys instead of IGA.
