Two central Alberta Boston Pizza locations closed their doors this week after reporting a COVID-19 case.

Owners of the two outlets said they were made aware on Monday of an employee who had tested positive for the virus and had worked at both restaurants.

The locations were closed immediately Monday afternoon.

The employee last worked at the Innisfail location on Oct. 7 and in Olds on Oct. 8. The owners said the person had not worked since Oct. 4, prior to those dates.

The two locations reopened Wednesday after they were sanitized.

“All staff that will be working in the coming days have either received negative test results or have had no close contact with the positive case,” the company said in a statement.

Anyone who attended the Boston Pizza in Innisfail on Oct. 7 or the Olds location on Oct. 8 is encouraged to contact the restaurants.
