Bowden employees vote to join CUPE

Employees with the Town of Bowden have voted to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Employees with the Town of Bowden have voted to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Seven employees from the operations, facilities and bylaw departments voted two-thirds in favour to join Canada’s largest union, which has more than 600,000 members.

“In CUPE, we believe no group of employees is too small to join a union,” said CUPE Alberta president Marle Roberts.

She said Bowden employees are seeking a respectful and co-operative relationship with their employer.
