Rising Bowden country singer-songwriter Myranda Christi promises to take listeners on a “rollercoaster of romance” with her new single, When You Come Around.

The Central Alberta singer and former Canadian Idol competitor sings about discovering that love rush — when romantic chemistry goes into overdrive and feels like a thrill ride.

Christi’s second single, available via MC1 Nashville/Sony Music/The Orchard, is described as fast-paced and “as exhilarating as any five-ticket fairground attraction.” It showcases Christi’s expressive, rockin’ country voice, punctuated by classic pedal steel riffs.

Co-written with seasoned songwriters J.C. Veaudry, Jacqueline Burke and Corey Lee Barker, the tune is landing just after Christi’s sweetly romantic debut single Pure introduced Canada to the promising young artist.

Christi has been honing her vocals since she began her musical journey in 2005. She’s participated in many provincial performing arts competitions, including Kiwanis Music Festivals and the Red Deer Festival of the Performing Arts.

She’s also been heard in radio musicals and sang her way to the TV judges round on the 2007 edition of Canadian Idol.

In 2017, Christi recorded a three-song cover album that ended up becoming key to landing her current distribution deal with MC1 Nashville. However, her most recent studio experience, recording her own songs as a solo artist has left the most indelible impression.

“It was amazing, and I never wanted to leave,” recalled Christi. “The recording experience was one that… I will always look back on.”

Christi credits this transformative studio time for helping hone her self-assured-ness and personal style — as she hopes will be evident to listeners on When You Come Around and Pure.
