Boy, 5, dead after being hit by truck his dad was driving at Alberta landfill

LAC LA BICHE, Alta. — Police say a five-year-old boy has died after he was hit by a truck that his father was driving in Lac La Biche, Alta.

RCMP say the incident happened on Saturday afternoon, when the father and son had been unloading a truck at the Plamondon Landfill.

They say that after they finished unloading, the truck hit the boy.

They say the boy’s father was operating the vehicle.

Investigators say paramedics couldn’t save the boy, and he died at the scene.

Police are still probing the cause of the crash and haven’t laid any charges.
