Break and enter leads to arrest of two Central Alberta men

Two Central Alberta men have been arrested after two break and enters in Red Deer County.

On March 18, around 9 a.m., Innisfail RCMP responded to a break and enter and theft call from a rural oil site on Range Road 263, north of Highway 590.

The suspects were reportedly driving a dually vehicle and had stolen black copper wire and oil site batteries.

While on the way, the RCMP officers received a second call of a break and enter in progress at a nearby location. Police attended the site and located a white dually cube van matching descriptions given by both witnesses.

RCMP approached the van and the driver put the van into drive and pushed the gas pedal to the floor but became stuck in the snow.

The two occupants were arrested without incident at the scene. A subsequent search revealed the van was full of property.

A 43-year-old Red Deer County resident has been charged with mischief under $5,000, break and enter with intent to commit theft, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and trespassing.

The driver, a 39-year-old Red Deer man, has been charged with mischief under $5,000, break and enter with intent to commit theft, possession of stolen property under $5,000, trespassing, breach of probation, driving while disqualified among others.
