Red Deer Hospice Society says residents can buy an apple tree to remember a loved one while supporting end of life care.
“After a tough year, we wanted to share an opportunity with our community that showed love and healing in a COVID-friendly manner. We hope people take this opportunity to purchase a tree to brighten their yard, bring joy or even commemorate a loved one,” says Jerri Taylor, executive director at the Red Deer Hospice Society.
Trees are $99 each and can be purchased online at www.reddeerhospice.com until Nov. 4, 2021 for pick up in May 2022. Each tree will come in a #5 pot and be approximately 1.8 metres (six feet) tall at time of pick-up. At maturity, the trees will be 14 to 16 feet tall.
Trees are supplied by Parkland Nursery and Landscape and all proceeds go to support end of life care in the community.
