A Calgary man and two youths were arrested this week after thefts from a Penhold gas station store.

On Monday, Innisfail RCMP received a call for a panic alarm at the Centex in Penhold.

Police were told two males had entered the store and demanded cash. They later fled with undisclosed items in a dark-coloured Honda Civic.

Some “very alert” citizens provided detailed descriptions of the suspects and vehicle to police, states a release from Innisfail RCMP.

Police responded quickly and, with the assistance of other RCMP members, the vehicle — which was reported stolen — was located, stopped and three occupants were arrested without incident.

Chgkouth Makuag, 20, of Calgary is charged with theft, possession of stolen property and transporting alcohol within reach of the driver.

Makuag was released and is to appear in Red Deer provincial court Jan. 29.

Two 15-year-olds were also arrested and charged. Their identity cannot be released, under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
