Calgary pilot dies after small home-built plane crashes in eastern Alberta

The pilot of a small, home-built aircraft has died after his plane crashed into some trees in eastern Alberta.

PROVOST — The pilot of a small, home-built aircraft has died after his plane crashed into some trees in eastern Alberta.

RCMP say the single-engine BEDE-BD5B went down Monday afternoon just south of Provost.

The pilot was a 75-year-old man from Calgary.

His body was found trapped upside down in the wreckage.

Police did not release his name.

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
