CALGARY — Police have laid two impaired driving-related charges after a pedestrian was struck and killed in Calgary.
Investigators say a man in his 40s was in a southeast intersection when he was hit by a pickup truck a few minutes before 10 Sunday evening.
They say he was thrown about 20 metres and died at the scene.
William Edward Grimm, who is 66, is charged with impaired driving causing death and impaired driving over .08 causing death.
The accident marks Calgary’s sixth pedestrian fatality so far this year and the second this month.
A man in his 60s was killed in a southeast neighbourhood on Aug. 20.
