CALGARY — A woman has serious injuries after a second hit-and-run collision in Calgary this week involving a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.

Police say the 38-year-old woman was with a two-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl when she was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening in a northeast neighbourhood.

The woman is in serious but stable condition, while the children were taken to hospital for observation and released.

The driver failed to remain at the scene and investigators are looking for a white Honda that’s believed to have damage to the grill, hood and possibly the windshield.

Police say a man turned himself in this morning.

On Monday evening, a 33-year-old woman was fatally injured at a crosswalk on the city’s north side.

Robert Mark Varley, who is 58, has been charged with hit and run causing death.
