A Calgary teacher has been charged with sexual assault for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old male student.
Police say the woman, in her 40s, was arrested Tuesday.
She has been released on a promise to appear on charges of sexual interference with a child and sexual assault.
Officers began investigating after receiving information from a third party in early November.
The name of the accused and the school she taught at are not being released to protect the identity of the alleged victim and another key witness.
The woman is to appear in court Jan. 28.
