A 20-year-old from Camrose man is facing charges for allegedly distributing child sexual abuse materials online.
Junvier Fajarito, 20, was arrested on Jan. 6 at his home in Camrose and was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation unit alleges that Fajarito distributed sexual abuse materials in an online chat group last year.
The RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre became aware of the offence and referred the investigation to ICE.
“ICE‘s investigation identified a Camrose suspect, and at that point, Camrose Police became involved. Our agencies were then able to work together to make a timely arrest,” said Sgt. Scott Sveinbjornson of the Camrose Police Service.
