Spring marks the beginning of the Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign.

With nearly one in every two Canadians diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime, the organization is calling on Red Deerians to donate a digital daffodil in honour of a loved one or purchase a daffodil pin to show support.

“As we begin to emerge from a difficult year, we invite Red Deer residents to rally around this symbol to provide hope to people affected by cancer in their community,” CCS said in a release.

“Now more than ever, the daffodil’s sunny symbol serves as a meaningful reminder for us to come together and continue to look ahead to brighter days.”

Support for the Daffodil Campaign can ensure that no one faces cancer alone – providing funding for groundbreaking research to better prevent, detect and treat cancer to enabling a nationwide support system.
