One man, who died later Christmas Day in central Alberta, was injured inside a motel room during a fire in Cardston.
Shortly after midnight Wednesday, Cardston RCMP and Cardston County Fire and Emergency Services received several 911 calls regarding a structure fire at a motel in the Town of Cardston.
Officers arrived on scene and began evacuating the rooms.
Witnesses reported seeing a man inside the motel who was not leaving the room. RCMP gained access to the room and located the man who was gravely injured.
The man was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
