Free transit and a celebration at Kerry Wood Nature Centre are planned for Clean Air Day on Wednesday.

Catch a free ride on Red Deer Transit and BOLT Regional Public Transit Services all day on Wednesday.

People who use free transit on Clean Air Day can enter themselves into a draw for a Red Deer Transit card with 12 free rides on it. Contest details are at reddeer.ca/cleanairday.

“Clean Air Day reminds us that we all have a part to play in protecting our environment and contributing to good air quality,” said Lauren Maris, environmental program specialist.

“We are offering free transit on Wednesday so people can help reduce emissions by leaving their cars at home; it’s a small change that can make a big difference.”

The Kerry Wood Nature Centre, 6300 45th Ave., is hosting a Clean Air Day event from 3 to 7 p.m. featuring a variety of activities for Red Deerians to enjoy, while also learning more about how to protect the environment.

Enjoy a guided bike ride by Red Deer Association for Bicycle Commuting, an art workshop and guided tree planting.

Visit www.reddeer.ca/cleanairday for details about the event and the Clean Air Day Initiative.
