Fundraising during a pandemic didn’t limit Bower Place, which presented the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre with a donation of $20,220.
The Red Deer mall came through for the centre, despite current challenges, by constructing new and innovative ways to fundraise.
“We are thrilled that we were able to provide the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre … especially during such an uncertain and tumultuous year,” said Adwoa Obrenu-Yamoah, Bower Place’s marketing manager.
He noted Bower Place created a special pop-up space for the CACAC in the mall that not only allowed the centre to have fundraising items but to share its story to all who visited – generating significant awareness around the issue of child abuse.
Bower Place sold “Bower Elves” in the pop-up space with all proceeds donated to the CACAC.
Bower Place also partnered with local shops to create two “kits” for sale and held a successful virtual “Girls Night In” craft/fashion event.
“The entire team at the mall was very supportive and engaged with helping us to highlight the need for our centre… This organization is rooted in community and plays such a valuable role in our city,” said Jennifer O’Shea, CACAC community events coordinator
The CACAC says the donation will have a lasting impact.
