Central Alberta RCMP took a suspect into custody following an investigation into an assault and possible firearms-related complaint in Lacombe County on Sunday afternoon.
During the investigation, Blackfalds RCMP blocked access on Highway 2A in the area of Range Road 270A, and motorists had to use an alternate route.
Police say that at around 2 p.m. Sunday, they received a complaint of a dispute at a residence located in the area.
A 39-year-old male from Lacombe County was charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault.
