Suspect charged with first degree murder

A 29-year-old man died after he was stabbed behind a Wetaskiwin night club early Tuesday morning and a suspect has been charged with first degree murder.

Wetaskiwin RCMP said a report of a stabbing behind The Old Garage Bar came in at 2:25 a.m. and Colter Jared Buffalo was found seriously injured. He was taken to Wetaskiwin Hospital and died.

Police said investigators on scene quickly identified and arrested a suspect.

A 31-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with first degree murder and remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on March 31, 8:30 a.m.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be released by police.
