A 31-year-old man faces charges that include assault with a knife, says Ponoka RCMP.
Police said a complaint was received on March 12 involving an alleged assault on 46th Street in Ponoka. The victim said she was choked and threatened with a knife.
A man, of no fixed address, was charged with assault while choking, assault with a weapon, and two counts of failing to comply with release conditions.
He was remanded into custody and is set to appear in Ponoka Provincial Court on March 17.
