RCMP in central Alberta seize drugs and cash worth $85K

Drugs with a street value of $70,000 was seized by Didsbury RCMP on March 21.

Police said a warrant was executed at a Didsbury residence where 725 grams of cocaine, 101 grams of fentanyl, and nine grams of methamphetamine was found. Police also seized $15,000 in cash.

“This is another significant drug bust in the area in the last few months. The disruption in criminal activity has had a profound effect on the community,” said Didsbury RCMP Staff Sgt. Chad Fournier.

Omar Ibrahim Sail, 23, of Calgary, was charged with property obtained by crime, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and six counts of possession of failing to comply with release conditions.

Sail was remanded into police custody and is scheduled to appear in Didsbury provincial court on March 29.
