RCMP in central Alberta seized drugs, 10 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition from a Red Deer County location on Feb. 3.

Blackfalds RCMP said a search warrant was executed on England Way in Red Deer County where 44 grams of suspected fentanyl, 11 grams of suspected cocaine, and nine grams of suspected methamphetamine were found, along with $4,600 in Canadian currency. Two of the guns seized were loaded and prohibited.

“We are pleased to see a successful outcome to this four-month long investigation. Working in partnership with our surrounding detachments, we were able to make significant arrests, seizing drugs and firearms that would have caused harm to the communities we serve,” said Blackfalds RCMP Staff Sgt Dan Martin.

Police participating in the investigation included Blackfalds RCMP GIS Unit with the assistance of Innisfail GIS, Red Deer Alert, Blackfalds Provincial Traffic Section, RCMP Police Dog Services, and Blackfalds Detachment members.

A 40-year-old Red Deer County man faces 62 offences including three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, 11 counts of careless use of a firearm, 10 counts of failing to comply with release condition, 24 counts of possession of a weapon contrary to order, 10 counts of possession of a restricted firearm, two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of property obtained by crime, and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.

The man was remanded in custody pending his next court appearance.

A 31-year-old Red Deer man was charged with 23 offences including three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, 10 counts of careless use of a firearm, eight counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and two counts of possession of a restricted firearm.

The Red Deer man was released from custody with his next appearance on March 3, in Red Deer Provincial Court.

A 34-year-old woman, of no fixed address, was charged with 24 offences including three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, 11 counts of careless use of a firearm, eight counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and two counts of possession of a restricted firearm.

She was released from custody with her next appearance on March 3, in Red Deer Provincial Court.
