Central Alberta severe thunderstorm watch issued Friday morning

For the umpteenth time this summer, a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for a large part of Central Alberta, including Red Deer.

For the umpteenth time this summer, a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for a large part of Central Alberta, including Red Deer.

Environment Canada issued the watch at 10:38 a.m. Friday.

“Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.

“Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and move eastward during the afternoon into the evening.”
