Soroptimist International of Central Alberta is now accepting applications to honour women in the region.
Applications for three awards are being received by the group, which is part of a global women’s organization.
The Live Your Dream Award, along with $2,500, is given to a woman with dependents who is the financial head of her household, has a financial need and is attending or has been accepted to an undergraduate degree program or vocational/skills training program.

The Violet Richardson Award recognizes young women between 14 and 17 years old engaged in volunteer action within their community or school – projects benefitting women and girls are especially valued. The winner will receive $500 and an additional $500 will go to a charity of the winner’s choice.

The Ruby Award honours women who make extraordinary differences in the lives of other women. The recipient could be a woman who improves the lives of women through personal, volunteer or professional efforts.
