Central Alberta Victim and Witness Support Society saw a steady increase in workload through 2020.

As of the end of Aug. 2020, the organization said in a press release they opened 882 new case files and served more than 1,200 clients.

The organization noted that the team responds to nearly 70 service requests per month.

They said along with the steady increase in case files, they also faced financial issues. Those issues included a lack of government funding and fundraising opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
