The 47th-annual Canadian Finals Rodeo kicks off Wednesday at Westerner Park — and continues for five action-packed days.

Opening ceremonies for the Nov. 3-7 event will be followed by a full slate of rodeo events. There will be six performances offered over five days, to determine Canada’s 2021 professional rodeo champions.

Rodeo events include barrel racing, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc and bull riding.

In addition to the ring-side action, popular returning events include nightly cabarets, post performance buckle presentations, daily western lifestyle trade show, Ladies of Canadian Pro Rodeo Fashion Show, contestant autograph sessions, the Hot Stove Lounge, the Miss Rodeo Canada competition and more.

Organizers invite you to “re-connect with old friends, make some new ones, enjoy the spirit of our western way of life once again.”

Tickets are available from www.TicketsAlberta.com.

For attendees who are not fully vaccinated, an on-site rapid testing option is available.

COVID-19 restrictions are in effect at Westerner Park. All entrants, including employees, contractors, volunteers, event organizers and attendees aged 12 and older, will be required to show proof of one of the following: both COVID-19 vaccinations; a negative COVID-19 PCR; rapid test result from a privately-paid testing provider, completed within 72 hours of an event’s start time; or formal documentation of a medical exemption.

Masks will also be required in compliance with Alberta Health Services guidelines. Anyone unable to wear a mask will be asked to provide a medical exception letter.
