A suspect is facing numerous charges after Red Deer RCMP responded to a Sunday call that a man was being forced restrained at a local residence.

Police identified the residence in Parkvale and with help from the RCMP Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at the home on Parke Avenue.

A male suspect was arrested at the scene and a firearm was seized.

A 29-year-old has been charged with forcible confinement, robbery assault, two counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited, possession of an unauthorized firearm and possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition.

The suspect remains in custody and is due in court on Tuesday.
