Sylvan Lake RCMP have filed charges related to several incidents of vandalism.

A 16-year-old Sylvan Lake male was arrested Tuesday and faces six counts of mischief in relation to the May 29 crime spree.

The RCMP requested the public assistance’s last week to help identify the individuals involved.

“I want to thank the citizens of Sylvan Lake who provided information that assisted in our investigation. We realize and appreciate that we police in a community that supports the RCMP, and that citizens know they play a valuable part in our success,” said Staff Sgt. Jeff McBeth.

It was reported that three males broke windows and damaged property in excess of $5,000.

The damage occurred at the Sylvan Lake Community Centre, the Lighthouse Fellowship Church, Dairy Queen, the Sylvan Lake Library, a restaurant on Lakeshore Drive and other businesses.

The 16-year-old will have a future court appearance to answer to the charges.
