A beautiful, sunny Saturday in October meant the donations came pouring in for the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre.

The organization got plenty of support for its annual Charity Checkstop on the weekend, hauling in 821 winter items for Coats 4 Kids and more than $12,000 for crime prevention.

It received 40 per cent more winter clothing items this year, compared to 2019.

If individuals still wish to donate, items for children and adults can be dropped off at participating dry cleaners until Oct. 24.

The coats will be distributed to those in need through the Victory Church Clothing Zone on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
