Central Albertans can help those who are less fortunate keep warm this winter.

Residents can drop off gently used winter items for kids and adults at the Charity Checkstop on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Taylor Drive, between 32nd Street and 43rd Street.

Drivers are encouraged to pull into the dedicated Charity Checkstop lanes on Taylor Drive to donate their items or cash for crime prevention.

The annual fundraiser is held in support of the Coats 4 Kids campaign and the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre.

From Oct. 4 to 24, people can also drop off items at many area dry cleaners.
