Johan Eriksson, of Didsbury High School took first place in the construction category for building a sturdy picnic table, while Travis Lorenz, of H.J. Cody High School in Sylvan Lake placed second.

Another H. J. Cody High school student, Davin Garrow, placed third place in construction

But only the gold and silver medalists will be allowed to move up to compete at the provincial level in Edmonton on May 3 and 4.

In total, 12 Chinook’s Edge Students competed at the regional level.

“I’m proud of my students…all of them developed their problem solving skills and took this opportunity to compete with other future trades people. These memories will last forever and prepare them for the future,” said Randall Prediger, career and technology studies teacher at H.J. Cody School.
