‘Tis the season for Christmas markets and other special holiday events.

The largest of these will be the annual Festival of Trees, on Nov. 20 and 21 and 26-28 at Westerner Park. Pets will get their chance in the spotlight at the Central Alberta Humane Society and Chic and Grace Studio Photographers’ Holiday Pet Portrait Fundraiser with Santa and Mrs. Claus. It’s on Nov. 19 to 21 at the Central Alberta Humane Society, 4505-77th St. Tickets can be pre-booked by calling the society.

Another fundraising photo-op with Santa and the Grinch will be held by the Central Alberta Humane Society at Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson on Saturday Dec. 4. Anyone can pose for pictures — real babies, their parents and “fur-babies.” There will also be a bake sale.

The Under $100 Art Market will beheld at the Lacombe Memorial Centre on Nov. 25-27 with paintings, pottery, woodwork, jewelry and more.

The All Things Pretty Holiday Market will be held on Nov 27, 28 at the Parkland Pavilion at Westerner Park, featuring handmade and local goods. A private shopping experience with live music will be held the first day and a public market on the second day. Tickets can be pre-purchased from Eventbrite for Nov. 27 and bought at the door for Nov. 28.

A Christmas Craft Market with various vendors will be held Nov. 27 at the Gull Lake Honey Company, 41113 Range Road. 282 in Lacombe County, (780) 916-2262.

On Dec. 3 and 4, Artribute Art School will hold its winter show and sale at Red Deer’s Old Court House. Books, gifts, cards, prints and original art are featured.

The Blackfalds Christmas Market will be held at 4500 Womacks Road in Blackfalds on Dec. 5. Unique Christmas gifts from local vendors will be available.

And the Red Deer MADE Christmas Market is happening at Westerner Park’s Parkland Pavilion on Dec. 11 and 12.
