The Christmas Wish Breakfast supported two local charities to help improve the holiday season for Red Deerians.

The sixth annual event was held Sunday at the Pidherney Centre in support of the Red Deer Christmas Bureau and the Red Deer Salvation Army.

Red Deerians were invited to kickoff the holiday season by bringing a new unwrapped toy to the centre and be treated to a sit-down buffet breakfast or a drive-thru pancake breakfast.

The event featured appearances from special guests, including Santa Claus and one of his elves.

As the Pidherney Centre is following the Restrictions Exemption Program, all guests seated indoors were required to provide proof of vaccination.
