INNISFAIL — Two people have been taken to hospital after a truck and trailer carrying chuckwagon horses home from the Calgary Stampede was involved in a four-vehicle crash in central Alberta.
No one else was seriously injured.
The collision, that also involved a motorcycle, happened on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway near Innisfail.
The extent of the injuries to both people was not immediately known, but none of the horses was hurt.
The animals were being taken home to Bonnyville, Alta., following the conclusion of the Stampede on Sunday.
The highway were reduced to one lane in either direction while the accident scene was cleaned up.
