Chuckwagons races return to Westerner Park in July for Wagons at Westerner.

Set for July 23 to 25 — the North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships Alberta Professional Chuckwagon & Chariot Association (APCCA) sanctioned Twist the 8 Tour — was created exclusively for this year after the cancellation of Westerner Days Fair and Exposition.

Chuckwagons compete over three days for the championship, as well as 24 chariot racing prior to the wagons.

The Agri-Trade Stars of Tomorrow (sons and daughters of competitors) will showcase their skills with their mini chuckwagons and chariots just prior to the chuckwagons.

Entertainment will be provided by The Rural Routes on Friday, and Jamie Woodfin on Saturday.

Food trucks will be on site, along with an outdoor beer garden.

A fireworks display will light up the sky on Friday and Saturday at 10:45 p.m., weather permitting.

Tickets are $10 each. Kids 10 and under are free.

Tickets will be available at the gates. However, purchasing in advance is recommended with only a limited number of tickets available.
