Red Deer residents now have an opportunity to contribute towards the city’s snow and ice control policy.

On Tuesday, the city will launch on online forum asking residents for their opinions on how best to handle the snow.

“There’s been a lot of complaints and maybe some things need to be looked at or updated,” said Jennifer Margach, City of Red Deer communications consultant.

One of the biggest complaints is how long it takes the city to clear snow in residential areas.

Residents can post suggestions, comments or complaints on a forum that can be accessed through the city’s website. People can also post comments on the City of Red Deer Facebook page or tweet to @CityofRedDeer.

The city will have a booth set up at Bower Place Shopping Centre on Saturday, March 12, for residents who would rather fill out a paper survey.

Input will be collected until March 30.

All feedback will be compiled and used by the city’s Public Works Department to inform revisions to the policy.
