City of Red Deer activities booking system to be temporarily unavailable next week

System software will be upgraded between March 22-24

The City of Red Deer is updating its booking system for all recreation, parks and culture programming registration and scheduling.

Look ‘n Book, the city’s online registration system will be unavailable from Monday, March 22 at approximately 8:00 a.m. to Wednesday, March 24 at approximately 4 p.m. On March 22, the system will be completely unavailable, including for in-person and over-the-phone bookings.

That includes program and activity reservations, program withdrawals and refund processing, payments on outstanding account balances, access to customer accounts and updating customer information, facility bookings, wedding, picnic and garden plot bookings, transit pass sales, gift card sales and Fee Assistance Program applications.

All those functions will resume Tuesday or Wednesday over the phone only, with the Look ‘n Book system expected to be fully functional by Wednesday afternoon.

According to a press release, the update is expected to repair issues that have been experienced since its implementation in 2018, as well as improve user experience.

Activity reservations and programming scheduled on Monday and for the remainder of the week will continue to be available for customers who have already reserved their sessions.
