The City of Red Deer is switching swimming programs
As of winter registration in December, the Lifesaving Society, Swim for Life program will be offered instead of the previous Canadian Red Cross Swim program
This could change participants’ swim levels, as what’s required at each level will differ.
Red Deerians interested in taking instruction to improve their water confidence should read the requirements before registration for the new session starts on Dec. 13.
Lifesaving Society, Swim for Life lessons will be implemented in January.
“We are encouraging anyone interested… to visit the web page to understand how the change will affect them,” says Monique Pages-Mearns, the city’s recreation programs co-ordinator.
“This is a big adjustment, so we want to be sure that the community has the information they need to register appropriately.”
Red Deerians can to visit www.reddeer.ca/swim to view the Swim Transfer Chart ahead of registration day.
